|Where I'm From||
I’ve been a senior executive administrative assistant with the Ontario government for several years. I have progressively moved through the admin ranks by working hard and being the best admin I can be. It gives me great satisfaction to see junior admins, who I have helped along the way, move up in their careers.
|Where I'm At||
I’ve been informally mentoring junior admin staff for years, but I’ve very recently committed to formally mentoring an intern. I’m hoping to learn from others’ formal mentoring experiences in the way of suggestions, tips, resources.
|Where I'm Headed||
I contribute toward my boss being the best boss she can be (I ensure she is never blindsided, is always prepared, and always has someone to vent to or run things past). I will continue to learn; I will ensure my team becomes the best they can be as admin professionals by providing formal and informal mentoring and coaching opportunities to them, encouraging training and recommending conferences and networking opportunities.
|What I'm Most Passionate About||
Volunteerism: rider safety through a therapeutic ride program (mentally and/or physically challenged youth and adults ride horses as part of their mental/physical exercise and stimulation/development).
Hobbies: travel, reading
